Yes, you are required to legally pull your child out of the public school system. Processes for pulling your children out of the public school system, along with testing requirements will vary state to state. Here’s a few links that will help you:

You can always call your local school district and ask them for guidelines as well. Here’s a simple list of some records states require. Keep in mind, each state is different, some being more strict in record keeping than others:

  • Signing or notarizing an affidavit
  • Attendace records
  • Curriculum choices
  • List of lessons taught
  • Required testing
