There are three basic core subjects to start with when homeschooling. They are known as the three R’s, (although, you’ll note only one of them begins with an R!).

Arithmetic
- Math, math, math. From counting to ten to pre-algebra and everything in between.

Those are the standard three across the board. However, your family might want to integrate some other subjects in as well as your core subjects. For us, history also is categorized as a core subject, or one I’d like my children to study daily.
